This website and BPW UK take a proactive approach to user privacy and ensure the necessary steps are taken to protect the privacy of its users throughout their visiting experience. This website complies with all UK national laws and requirements for user privacy.

This privacy policy is for this website www.BPWUK.org.uk and served by BPW UK and governs the privacy of its users who choose to use it.

The policy sets out the different areas where user privacy is concerned and outlines the obligations and requirements of the users, the website and website owners. Furthermore, the way this website processes, stores and protects user data and information will also be detailed within this policy. Why do we collect information?

We use the information you share with us to:

  • keep in touch with you
  • make sure that you receive the information and knowledge that as a member you are entitled to receive
  • inform you of events and items that as members you need to know about
  • perform the necessary administration with regard to your membership, bookings for conference and events, donations.

The policy will be updated from time to time to keep in line with changes in legislation.

What information do we collect and how?

We collect personal information about you that helps us to keep you as a member informed of BPW UK business:

  • Name and address
  • Email address
  • Preferred telephone number
  • Date of birth
  • Payment information
  • Details of working groups that you are interested in
  • Employment status
  • If holding student/apprentice membership proof of status.

 

What do we do with your information?

We use your information to ensure that we keep you informed about BPW UK, send you all relevant information and process any payments.

As a member this will include:

  • sending you confirmation of your membership
  • membership renewal information and methods of payment
  • regular e-news
  • annual reports
  • information relating to BPW International and BPW Europe
  • application information and details about national events
  • constitutional material
  • any information that you need as a member of BPW UK

Responsibility lies with the member to inform us of any changes to their data ie address / telephone number etc.

Who will have access to your information?

Your information will only be accessible to the members of the Federation Executive Committee (FEC) and the Office Manager.

Your contact details will be available to your area and club officers.

If you have opted to join a Working Group then the co-ordinator of that Working Group will be furnished with the contact details of the members of that Group.

Our website may contain links to other websites that are outside our control and are not covered by this policy. If you use other sites using the links provided,  the operators of these sites may collect information from you that will be used by them in accordance with their privacy policy, which may differ from ours.

How do we keep your information safe?

The security of your information is very important to us, and is:

  • password protected
  • held in a locked filing cabinet
  • held in a safe where sensitive data is concerned
  • and we endeavour to keep abreast of the latest information.

If you have a password to allow you to access certain parts of our website, you must keep that password safe and not share it with anyone.

We will take every possible care to keep your information safe but this cannot be guaranteed, please be aware that any information you do transmit to us is at your own risk. Once we have received your information we will do our best to ensure its safety.

We will keep your information for the period that you are a member.
